So, my step daughter is testing for her green belt in Tae Kwan Do next week, I told her, if she passed, we'd get her the lizard, or snake of her choice. She decided she wanted an anery corn. The MN. reptile show was today, so while I was there I picked up this guy. If she doesn't pass, or do her chores, he belongs to my wife....... He is Anery het creamsicle, and currently his name is Herei. Short for heretic

Goodness he is cute! Lets hope your daughter does a good job! Reptiles are fun pets for responsible kids with responsible parents ;) I know my son loves "his" bearded dragon and baby hognose.

he looks nice :) gonna have to make sure the little girl doesn't overhandle and such. (i sure missed that memo when i was young and much dumber)
i gave my poor little BRB horribly aweful husbandry when i was a young kid.

Thanks for the comments, and don't worry....Mom and I will be there to supervise his care.

i wish my mom would have been super on top of it and made sure i did everything right. i was too young to have an exotic pet that you can overhandle, and at that stage i thought it was really "cool" to have a snake, and that didn't help either.

She's 9 pushing the big 1 0.

He's a little darling, he keeps peeking out and looking around but when he knows you are watching him he hides.

Thats cool, big enough to do the poop scooping and feeding then!! One of my corns is like that, as soon as he sees someone he dives into his hide, tho someties he only hides his head and leaves his body out in the open!

Ohhh, I was curious what other expo was today. Our KY expo was today and I, coincidentally, held this very morph! Only difference was, it was a full grown Anery corn. Lovely snake~

Hope your daughter passes :D

Its nice when an entire family can come together with love for herps. I know growing up I had a lizard that my mom got me when I was 18 (still had him when I got married) but the only reason she got it for me was because it was the type of lizard that was to spastic and skittish to hold. Which meant she didn't have to deal with me having it out and around the house.

Now with my hubby we often have out our beardie and 2 rats. Soon enough we will be enjoying our little hognose and getting her used to being handled. I think my son will be happy to have parents who are cool with exotics when he is older. Not gonna be one of those parents to "afraid" of things and let their child miss out.

I have 300 odd photos on my phone and only about 20 are non-reptile pics. Trouble is if anyone asks to see pics of my "baby" they tend to get shwon a snake or two...... ;)

This will be her first snake should she pass and only really 'own' the snakes when my husband is away, which is almost never.

I'm sure she can dig the picture up. She'll probably post it in Vern's thread, Chuck.

I'll have to trust Wayne, when he tells me this.. "domi adsum (latin for I'm home)" Hopefully it isn't something derogatory. ;)

okay shame on me for posting this pic here...but...it's an answer to a question.

All I need are pictures of all the kids holding snakes and I will have my whole family posted in my cube! :crazy2:

How big is Vern? He looks like he well over 6 feet.

The best measurement I could get on him Chuck, was 6'6" but he was curled in a couple spots.

There is a program on the net that you can download for free. Its called herpmeasure, with this program all you have to do is take an overhead pic of your snake with say a 12" ruler in the picture. You then calibrate the scale on the program according to that ruler as you know its exact size. Then you just place dots along the spine of your snake when you upload the picture into the program. This will give you a 100% accurate measurement of you snake as long as your snake is flat on the ground and the photo is taken directly above.

i really hope your daughter passes her next grading mate

tae kwon do is a pretty tough martial art to learn the flexibility required for some of the moves brings tears to my eyes

its great she's into martial arts and snake keeping as both will teach her discipline and responsibility not to mention she will be able to look after herself should the need arise

sounds like you have a wonderfull little girl mate

all the best shaun

She did very well on her testing, though she hates sparring. If she focuses she can do some real damage sparring (but she doesn't focus if she doesn't like it).
I am in it as well and yeah....I have the feeling at times that I am a tad too old to be getting limber enough for tae kwon do, but I have come to the conclusion that I want to do this and I will. I am determined to have a black belt.
We won't know how we did on the test until Tuesday or Thursday as the Master doesn't let us know until he has belts to 'award' us. Though if we failed something he tells us right away.
And....testing with a massive head cold (which I did) makes it 9 million times harder!!!
Good to see you back Shauny!
(and thank you, she is wonderful!)
