I have been using pine for over a year with no problems. As you may already know you should not use cedar.
Cheers,
Trevor
We have used Pine for all of our rodents, and no problems have comed up.
I use pine as well. Its cheap and works well.

How does shredded paper work? Like I know how you shred it I mean for cleaning and smell?

i personally found that their "waste" stuck to the ground when using paper. I also lost some mice (they hid in the paper when i cleaned and were thrown into the garbage, by accident:) ). I just use pine but others have used paper with great succes.
