Hi,

It's been a long time since I've posted anything but my friend is getting a Bearded Dragon and is completely confused on the temperatures and the best substrate. The internet has way to many opinions lol but I trust all of yours without a doubt!

So yes, temperatures and substrate, thoughts?
Thanks! :)

I am not 100% on the temps but I will say the best substrate is Tile, but since some people like loose stuff to give a more natural look or whatever I swear by (and use) reptile alfalfa pellets. Little ones can't eat it and if they do eat it when they get bigger there is NO chance of impaction since it is a plant material and they naturally eat plants in their natural environment (not to mention as a balanced diet when they do get older in captivity).

ideal temps for your beardie is, a basking area of around 40*C (104*F) and ambient of 28*C (82*F) and I do drop the temps at night.

I use a mix of substrate of beech chips and aspen as they do like to have a dig around.
