I've been kicking around the idea of getting a T. Rose hairs seem to be the most common. Are they good to start with?

Beautiful little gal you got, great beginner tarantula! They are very docile, have fun with her.

haha i'm sorry, it was on my blackberry and i could upload it straight to facebook, ill be taking pictures tonight lol, she seems a little stressed out so ive been trying to leave her alone but shes doing well overall!
Rose hairs are usually a good bet from what i've read on tarantulas, they're super docile and easy to work with, and they also stay a manageable size although i'm sure if you have enough room for snakes then you'd have more than enough for some spiders :P

My mother's extremely interested in Pygmy Chameleons, actually. I'm not particularly fond(I'm more of a Meller's Chameleon or Panther Chameleon kind of person).
I have... I guess -mild- arachnophobia.. I used to be EXTREMELY frightened of spiders, but I'm starting to slowly get over it.. I'm going to bite my tongue at the next reptile expo in town and ask to hold a Tarantula and do so if they'll let me. I've read of on aggression signs/sign of feeling threatened, so I know when to back off and leave it alone or when to hand it back. It's honestly the fangs and hairs that bother me so much with Tarantulas(barbed itchy hairs).
I have a friend, Kyle, who really want a Mexican Red Knee, he'd been eyeing one at a pet store, but I told him online breeders are generally cheaper and better anyways, in most cases... Got to browsing.. and I've found some to really strike my fancy, so I'm kind of warming up to them.. Really like the Sun Tiger Tarantula, but heard their venom is very strong.
At any rate she's uh... I'll be nice and say pretty :c ... but I'm still iffy on the thought of tarantulas. If I were warmer with them I'd probably say she was pretty and genuinely mean it without being biased on account of fear. ;c
Photo quality also isn't -that- bad :> It's pretty good~

haha thanks, i've never really been interested in them but i've also never been scared of them, centipedes however, i can't do lol, i also wouldn't mind a scorpion one day but thats about it for the invertebrates, i like my herps lol, also the pygmy chameleons were super cool, i'll most likely buy a pair soon lol either that or a nice big panther ;) haha

I'll be hitting the reptile show here next weekend. My wife has given me a $100 budget. Heh heh heh. I am seriously considering a tarantula, but I too have a mild arachnophobia. But then I used to have a mild fear of snakes as well, so all can be overcome. They do eat roaches correct? Can that be the main diet of a tarantula?

Panthers are awesome~ Love some of the odd colors they can have on them, but I did recently see a picture of an absolutely -marvelous- looking Veiled that caught my eye. Though, I do know not all chameleons are the same, so it's not like I'd run out and buy one just 'cause this -one- is pretty. Still, AWESOME colors.

And ewwww! I can't do centipedes, either. They just give me the creeps. Scorpions... Eh... The stinger really intimidates me. I do like slugs, snails, and praying mantises, though.~

lol well from my knowledge you can give them roaches as a staple diet, however i like to switch it up and around here its easier to get crickets and different larvae, i wouldn't mind throwing in a roach every now and then though but to be honest, i don't know where i would get one around here other than at the breeders. If i were to get a scorpion it would be an emperor because the venom potency is quite low and i think i would be more inclined to watch out for the front end of those guys lol :P i also think its cool that they glow blue under a black light :P

Watched a program about scorpions this week, one rule i learnt that they said is uoniversal to scorpions
"small claws mean they use their sting as their main attack/defense and so are kore venomous, large claws means they use these as their main attack/defence and therefore the sting has less potency"
Personally i would get one with big claws!! ;) :)
