View Full Version : Emerald city reptile Expo Pics
...Not nearly as many as I wanted. Had to leave early on account of my friend who I brought with me was out in the car puking his guts out for some odd reason, suddenly got sick on the 4 hour ride up... life happens.
Also, I got there within an hour of opening on the first day, it was quite crowded and hard to get in close for good pics.
Also, the lighting was surprisingly dim, made for some blurry and underexposed shots...
I've got my eye on you..

Real shame you couldn't stay, it looked awesome~ Really love that chameleon. I've seen them before but can't quite remember their name. I've always been fond of their appearance.~
Great pictures, all very nice, too bad your friend was sick! I get motion sick unless I drive!
Thanks for sharing your pictures!

That's a Meller's chameleon. They're one of the larger species, that one looks really nice too! I'm surprised he launched himself from his branch.
I was actually talking about the frog launching :)

In that tank that says "Monsters" are those Gila Monsters? Obviously people deal with hots all the time but I thought Gila's were exceptionally poisonous? I may just be mistaken...
Yes, and the rest of the label actually read "Gila".
They are not considered exceptionally poisonous, and it's extremely rare for a human to die from a bite, although it is VERY painful.
Not only is the venom not that toxic, it's danger level is reduced as it is not injected through fangs, but actually just slowly oozes from the Gila's teeth, requiring the Gila to chew.
Captive Gila's are known to be pretty docile, although when they bite, they bite hard, and clamp on like a pit bull!
