What is the relative humidity of the room he is in and of his enclosure? Do you mist? also for pesky eye caps or other bits you can try mineral or olive oil applied with a qtip to the area to loosen it up.

I have my Bp higher than that. I have a humidifier in the room that keeps it around 50% and I mist the tank twice daily. I don't know anything about carpets other than I love them and want one or 5 but they are too big for me lol. I would assume they like lots of humidity though, Do you have a moist hide for him? I bet it would use it alot. My bp uses his quite a bit even with humidity like I have. I also have about 3/4 of the tank covered with plastic to hold it in awhile after I mist.

i didnt think carpets have a specific humidity req ive just been told moderate so i run a foger every 2 hours for 4 minutes

Carpets have no specific humidity requirements, i never spray mine and he doesnt have a humid hide either.

Hopefully shauny Will be on soon to give some advice to you.

One question, have YOU not fed him or has he not eaten?

You put another snake in with her without quarantine? And it was a male during breeding season?

I would get her to vet ASAP, she could either be sick or pregnant......

Well then possibly pregnant. I'd take her to the vet just to be sure. Hopefully everything's good and stuff, especially if she's a momma and she'll have a good clutch.

Drop her temp down a couple degree at both ends. Being he has some diamond in him it won't hurt if you lower the temp a bit. Diamonds can handle cooler temp than other snake. If he soaking that much he most likely just trying to cool down. Misting every other day in the winter doesn't hurt, just because the air so much drier in the winter.

Diamond are actually called the cold blood python for a reason. Where they come from in nature it get down around 50 degrees or colder in the winter. And they can be seen basing in the sun when it's in the 50s and 60s. You don't want the temp getting below 70, because it is still part jungle. Looking at your temps i say if you drop them to high side 85 and low side 75 you'll see a difference. My Diamond x Jungle low side is 72, hot side 85 and she has never soaked. Perfect shed every time. Plus i go ahead and try feeding him.

His your snake a male or female? You have referred to it as both. If it a female it could be knock up. In which case i start looking into incubators.

Based on the group housing, during breeding season, combined with the shed and the upside-down tail, it sounds an awful lot like Mogli is an expectant Momma...I've heard of snakes sunning with the back half of their bodies flipped over when they're carrying. Just do a google image search of "Gravid Snake Basking", and see if it looks familiar.

My money's on you having 10-25 baby JCP's in a few months :)

Mogli is going to be a mom with 8 small eggs in her! now has anyone let a carpet maternally incubate !

Is this going to be her first clutch? I would be prepared for an alternative method just in case she doesn't want to. I would also think it would have a lot to do with the state of health that she was in prior to breeding and if you think she is strong enough to go that length of time without feeding.

I know Willow is doing it with Spotted Pythons.

Mark Gonesnakee would be the best guy to ask. I send him a PM and talk to him as he the only person on here that i know for sure as actually breed carpets. Oh i think Feebo has breed them.

The only thing I can think of with maternal incubation is that you can't get a good look at the eggs since mom is around them and also they are all stuck together. you won't really be able to remove or even see slugs or eggs with possible mold on them. I am a big fan of snake bytes and how brian separates the eggs and puts them in medium I did that with my corn eggs within hours after hatching and it really wasn't as scary as I thought it would be to separate them.
