D: okay, this is probably another stupid thread by me, but you guys are my go to people. lol.
just looked over and my corn snake is spazzing out. o.o
i decided to put proper substrate in today rather than paper towel, because im satisfied she does not have mites..
anyways, i know corns like to borrow, but i only had enough for about two inches or so along the bottom of the enclosure. she was trying to dig straight down. ! her whole body was flinging up into the air and there was dirt going everywhere. o.o is this normal? clearly i need to get more substrate for her? shes stopped for the moment but should i go and pick her up to stop her if she does it again? this is probably silly but im worried about her smashing her face into the glass bottom, or flinging her body into her hide or waterbowl and hurting herself. o.o why the heck is she being so crazy? lol D:

lol. im not too worried any more... i suppose im jus used to my python and have never seen a snake flip around like that. ive been watching her, and she'ssuper active, and has gone uner the substrate again but hasnt done the same thing... maybe she learned she couldnt get anywhere... probably didnt need to litter with a thread over it.. was just on my way to bed and kinda threw me into a wtf moment.

Uh-oh...
Thanks for the thread sapphyr. I looked around a bit before starting this thread but never saw that.
It's been six days since she last ate... and she's been queit (that i've seen- i did just wake up... her aquarium looks doesn't look like she was flipping out...though right now she is wrapper around her branch with her head and next under the substrate... weird...)
She has passed her last meal so I think when I get home from work this afternoon I wil try feeding her a fussy and see what happens... Gotta be at work for eight, don't have time to try and give her one now...
Hopefully she's okay, but I guess we will see.
Thanks for sharing you're informaton - even if it wasn't all sunshine.

No prob, I just don't want the same thing to happen to someone else, and knowing the signs of mine could really help should it happen to you.

Make sure she has clean fresh water!! See Wayne's (Infernalis') thread on dehydration symptoms and prevention!!

YUp, she does, I clean and change hers on the same days I clean Blues. Every second day, and I top them off with fresh water as needed each night and morning. I really am starting to think it was more her becoming more bold and exploring...when i came home from work her substrate is full of little tunnels. lol. Fed her a fuzzy to see if she would accept it. Got a little worried cuz she didn't seem to notice it as first - but I have worried mother syndrome cuz it probably only took about a minute for her to notice it, find the right end, and swallow it..Wet straight into one of her tunnels after being replaced in her enclosure.

she was placed on a 20inch by 20inch enclosure with her previous owners, and had barklooking substrate..so hopefullythis is just her enjoying the new space and ability to burrow.

Good, she took it! I'm sure she is tickled pink with her new home.
