Great looking snake. Just wondering if you have a demonstrators license or permit?
Nope its not needed in Texas for boa constrictors. I am a member of a herpological society here and of course USARK.
Thanks guys!! Not real into breeding hypos as there are alot of them out there, Beautiful snakes but I think best kept as pets because of the overflow lol This girl is mighty special though plan on breeding her into some pretty cool projects ;)

Ah ok. Interesting as over here you can not legally take your animals out of your home unless they are bagged and going straight to the vet. This is more of a precaution to protect demonstrators who have done the training and spent the years keeping. It is also good to stop any misleading infomation being given by people are not competent to do these demonstrations. I am in no way at all having a go at you, just explaining the reasoning behind my question.
Its cool understandable I was just having a rant about zoo people giving demonstrations and giving out false info in them lol I know nothing about any reptiles but bcc/bci's lol Ive kept them for 17 yrs now. Ask me a question about a corn snake lol and Id be clueless lol

Glad you didnt take it the wrong way, i was just curious. I hope you have fun doing some school programs, i have always thought about it but i would join another business for the insurance reasons. Its just way to expensive to pay for one person.

We do school visits with us but only on the condition that the school, college or nursery take the responsibility. We have a strict no touch policy so that the only ones likely to be bitten are me and the wife.
I am the mouthy one, lol, so i do most of the talking and answering questions whilst wifey is my beautiful assistant who does most of the handling and/or passing the animals to me and "packing" them up.

So just if one of your snakes was to bite one of children Rob and the parents were to try and sue. Would the school still take the responsibility? As this is where i would be become quite weary in doing these little shows. As this is where insurances are needed as we all know murphies law.

Yeah, so far the places we have been to have been happy that as long as we take all necessary precautions then they will take full responsibilty.
We have set procedures ie
The kids sit quietly and keep calm or all animals stay packed up.
We have a three foot no entry zone between us and the kids.
One animal at a time is "shown" so that between the two of us if it should escape our hold then the other person should get to it before it reaches any children or teachers.
We have a room set aside at the place we demonstrate where we can put a heatpad to keep the reps warm and calm and that only me or wifey access.
Most importantly at any point if we say we stop then we stop.

Beautiful girl, I love a nice hypo. Still one of the prettiest boas around in my opinion. I love my hypo girl. I do shows with my snakes. I just did a St. Patrick's festival for a local church. The kids and everyone had a great time. I have never had a problem with a snake biting with supervision, but it can always happen. My 11 year old daughter helps me and has kept snakes since she was five. The only time she has been bitten was by a crested gecko that tugged on the back of her hand LOL!
