I agree, IMO a hoarder is someone who gets in over their heads and can't say no even though they do not have the ability to properly care for their animals. Like that hoarders show, All those peoples animals and their conditions look horrible.

I think we are all on the same page to a degree. Many people are not interested in reptiles and could care less to hear about them. But there are also alot of people out there that are and when you tell them you keep them, they wanna know more...

Oh same thing. I'd buy 5 more snakes if I could, LOL, but this hognose is my absolute last... 'til I move out LOL. Well, I rephrase that. 'Til I move out and have settled in with another job. I'm sure I'm not going to take a 1 1/2 commute to my job in Lexington from Cincinnati, OH.

People think we're hoarders, too, but all of our animals are treated like kings and queens. My mother keeps the house looking clean, and I clean my own room about once a week... I sometimes get lazy and let things like shredded paper, etc. pile up for about 2 weeks or so, but I don't go a month without cleaning everything up. All I can say is, I'm 100% different from when I was 10 LOL. I'd let my room get so bad back then, that it'd pile up past your knees. It was just disgusting. Now a days I can't stand too much of a pile up in my room. Never ever covers my floor like it used to. Should I ever let it cover my floor, even if it's just paper covering my floor, I get so extremely annoyed and just have to clean it. I like my room nice and organized.

The only negative thing I can say is... The fact that they've made several messes and have seemingly permanently stained the carpet with the most rank smell(it's not as noticable as I make it sound, but then again, I'm used to this)... it's attracted a crapload of annoying little gnats. But, thankfully, I'm having my carpet ripped up this weekend and replaced with Linoleum. Goodbye gnats, goodbye faint reek in my room. I will not miss you. Honestly, though, I think the ferrets are the biggest contributors to that.

We've currently got 5 dogs, 9 cats, 4 ferrets, 1 leopard gecko, 1 beardie, 1 golden malaysian gecko, 1 BRB, and a hognose on the way!

When I move out, I'll be taking 2 dogs, 5 cats, and everything after that(the ferrets and reptiles). The others aren't mine, they're my parents. I'm hoping to get all of them with me in one trip when I move. I'd hate to have to make a 1 1/2 hour trip back home and then another 1 1/2 hour trip back to my new home. Would especially hate to do that with my animals back at the new place, in a whole new environment. I guess I wouldn't feel ok with going back until me and everyone else is settled in. Meaning, they've all been placed, cages set here and there, crates, etc., and all my things have been placed as well, I know everything is good and fine, and I know they'll be ok for 3 hours.

Yeah, we've got alot but.. we get $100,000 a year.. and that's with me not having a job. You're probably wondering why I don't have a job... It's 'cause my Uncle keeps taking my car, for one. Today's a perfect day for me to be driving... Which leads me to the second reason. I'm a total newb to driving. I need to learn how to not be a nervous wreck before I go driving off to an interview or my new job. So, yeah. Hoping to, at least, get one in the next 6 months... Hopefully. Then I'll be paying for my own animals. Estimate my monthly animal bill to be $100+, but that's ok <3 It may drop to $70 if I start my own roach colony...

Ha! Good luck Rob! :D We've been barking up that tree for YEARS. Not a dollar </3

For me, it's more of Money and Space. I've got all the time in the world. Even with a job, I'd still have 8 hours to myself everyday.

Same here really, i have about 20 hours each day to fill so more reptiles could be possible, just money and space needed.

20 hours? You barely sleep, huh? xD I'd say I got maybe 18 hours.. 16 hours each day, right now.

Sleep is overrated!!! I probably average four to five hours a night since my accident just over four years ago. My hip has started rqndomly dislocating so the latest trend is i roll over in bed and out it pops, thst'll keep you awake for a while!!

Cycling and got hit by a big pick up truck. Apart from the constant pain, stiffness, inability to walk far, fibromyalgia, sciatica and a "poppy" hip life is fantastic!

At the end of te day there are people alot worse of and you have the choice of smiling and getting on with life or becoming bitter and mad at the world. Hope fully i am the first one most of the time!!

Rob, in the (nearly) a year that I have been here communicating with you, I can honestly say that your overall outlook exceeds that of most people, injured or not.
