I put broccoli in there and some potatos for water, though, you'll also need some form of gutload feed if you're going to keep them in there for over a day.

Lots of ventilation is important and not too humid. What are you keeping your crickets in?
You need to feed them, if not they will eat anything including each other! They also need a water source, you can you lids off of jars or bottles, place a cotton pad in the bottom and water the cotton will keep the crickets from drowning.
I made my own gut load, for feeding a bearded dragon you want it to be high in protein. I use dry cat food, fish flakes, bearded dragon pellets, place it all together in a food processor and process till a fine mixture.
you can also place chunks of carrot and potatoes in there, just make sure that you keep the food/water on one side of the container and the egg cartons on the opposite side so the egg cartons don't mold. Mold will also kill the crickets. I also never buy crickets that are full grown, their life cycle is not long, just a couple of months.
