k so the guy at petsmart is prolly trying to get me in a sale so few questions(btw only go there to handlt the snakes and pretend like im intrested and get info)
k so a BABY ROSY BOA AND A BALL PYTHON:
as babies both can be in a 10g cage( mostly sure but confirmation will be good)
how long till i have to move them (rosy boa into a 20 x 12 x 16)( ball pyton into a 30 x 12 x 16 according to the pets mart man who has a red tailed boa in a 30 x 12 x 16)
the rosy boa sound right, is a 30 x 12 x 16 too much for a rosy?
the 30 seems way too small for a ball
again 20 wide seems good for an adult rosy, but ball?
and how long until i have to move the baby rosy into an adult tank?
also how long till i have to move the ball python into an adult tank AND HOW BIG IS THE TANK!??? for it to live COMFORTABLY!! he said 30g but that seems BS!
clear this up for me cause the pets mart guy is convining me tha i can keep a ball python in a 10g tank for 3-4 years the upgrqade to 30g, it dont seem right!
i am going to a rep expo march 6 so i need all the right info, picking between a rosy boa and ball, dont wanna get a ball if it will be uncomfortable
the 20g and 30g are all the tanks he had so i think he was trying to get me into a sale!!!!!!
lol not to sure on that species,
the expo on march 6 i have been going to that one for a while lol have you been cause the last one only had 2 rosy :(

Ok well.. Yes, both can start out in 10g tanks as -babies-. I'd say maybe 6 - 8 months down the road you'll need to bump up to a 20g. I'm no expert, but I know snakes can reach a decent size by their first year.
30g is more than enough for an adult ball and Rosy. Even 20g would be fine for a rosy(they're slightly smaller than a full grown ball, I think). A ball can live in a 20g for a year or two before -preferably- upgrading to a 30g. It's not mandatory but.. it's recommended.
For certain, though, NEITHER of them can live in a 10g tank for 3 - 4 years and possibly be happy with it. To think he'd remotely consider that is extremely laughable. I really doubt his redtail is in suitable conditions. Either that or, as stated, he's just lying.
Are you getting a rosy or a Ball?

Don't think he's sure. Think he's trying to figure out all the facts first before deciding.

for sure, i am trying to figure out everything possible before and making sure i do not get fed wrong info,
to be honest i am leeding towards a rosy cause its smaller than a ball, and the tank size is smaller, i can fit a 20g on top of my desser drawer, but a ball i would have to upgrade over a 30g tank which would require me to buy a stand and stuff, rosy is more ideal then ball because i am going to be liiving with my parents till atleast 23-24(im 19 right now and out of skool, so 3-4.5 years to go through a bachelors program in uni since i need to do 1 year of college before hand then i can get outta my house and get a ball or bigger,) if i can cage a ball in a 20 for 3-4 years then its fine but more than that i dont think its possible)
and the first post, thats okay if theres only a few rosies at the expo, im going to the one in mississauga in canada, rosies are supposidly hard to find anyways so..... im not concerned with color too much so that will narrow my choices down, im looking for a female coastal just because coasstals get around 3ft,
im to excited to go to the expo!!
btw can anyone reccommend snakes with the ball pythong or rosy boa demeanor( meaning a SLOW moving snake that dosnt get over 4-5ft)
man i feel so bad,, the guy at pets mart gave me an albino baby corn snake and i was holding it letting it move around and it just f*ckin crawled off my hand and took a atleast 2-3ft drop! i feel so f*cking bad......:( i put it back in the cage as soon as that happened i hope it wasnt hurt, prolly definitly stressing over that exp though

yeah ey? maybe ill consider those too, i herd it was fairly small whats the exact, and whats its behaviour??? is it a slow moving snake? lenght and girth full size?
man tomarrow im going to tell my mom we need toothpast for my dog and go to the snake area and get the guy to feed her the sh*t info he has done to me, my mom is way more gulliable so it may just work, if she agrees and i come home with a 10g starter kit i am going to be so excited!!!
cause then that means reptile expo day im DEFINITlY coming home with a little baby reptile!
another question, you think if i hold it in my hand and show it to my dog( dog is really tamed thanks to me, listens to my every word) the snake wont get stressed? i want my dog to know that it isnt a a chew toy and it is a member of the family, i did that with my bird and the most he did was walk up to it and smell it.,(obviously i will wait like a year for the snake to get settled and use to its tank and then use to me)
yea the Mississauga expo was packed last time it kinda sucked pretty much all ball pythons xD but i bought 2 GTP's for 400 each (babies) traded one for a trio of gophers a pair of guyanna red tails and a jungle jag good deal for me !!!
have fun ill be at my uncles booth !! Hamilton reptile we have some nice killer bees

There are a few vendors that take credit cards and I know that PCPC takes Debit. Although this expo is at a new location so things may change....

Plenty of vendors at the Arlington Texas expo (it was a HUGE expo) took checks or cards but I wouldn't know to trust the cards part since it was the old fashioned hand sliding kind and not an automatic card reader.

Personally i would keep all my reptiles away from all my fluffy pets. There is never a need for the two to meet, if we are getting snakes or lizards out for handling then the cats are put outside and the dog is kept well away.

i guess that makes sense, i just thought if ever i was going to walk around my house with it my dog would see it and be like wtf is that, but i guess ill keep the snakes boundries to my room
