So I built a cage for my ball python 2 months ago, waited for everything to cure and air out and what not and i finally got around to putting in the heat panel so he can go in it. this panel is a 40 watt panel and his hot spot can only reach about 86 degrees and I was wondering if this would be okay? if not i was going to buy the 80 watt and use this one for my gtp. on another note, he ate 2 days ago and im hoping he doesn't regurge but i had to move him since i have a carpet python coming in the morning. other than that he seems to love it and the cat seems to love it to.

Very very nice looking cage (Says the cat) Jk The only thing I can see is that you may want to give him another hide on the warm side. Also, I like to place a large rock under the heat source as a basking area. Not a heat rock, but a regular rock that will retain some of the ambient heat.

nice cage! what are the measurements of you cage, i will build one in the next couple of months. also this cage is good for most of its life right?

I would want to bump the temps up to 91f at the hot spot, and the additional hides are a good idea too.

thanks. the cage size is 3'x2' and it'll last the rest of his life.

For a Ball python yes. For your Burmese you would need at least 2 times that size or more when it's full grown.:)
