We had good temps yesterday and last night, so a breeder I've been working with for a couple months decided he was ready to ship our little girl.

Our female Lesser 100% het pied BP showed up this morning! I give all new snakes a thorough inspection prior to a week of isolation, so I had my girlfriend snap a few pictures.

The pictures don't do her justice; her colors are unbelievable in person and her eyes are very similar in color to a BluEL's (again, in person). The piebald influence also produces a little pattern on the underside of the tail just past the vent (consistent amongst lesser het pieds--hard to see, but in the 4th pic).

I received her from John Vandegrift and I highly recommend both him and his animals. He's not the most conversational man I've done business with, but he is an excellent breeder to work with nonetheless.

Thank you! I didn't expect her to look as good as she did, so we were thrilled!

I'd rather not publish that value; I named the breeder in the post and we did negotiate the price. I'll just say she's not the least expensive snake I own.

Thanks everyone! I'll go picture crazy once she's settled in...her colors are impossible to capture on camera though (much like a BRB or retic).

A little detail I forgot to mention: John of course shipped her on an empty stomach and it had been almost two weeks since she last ate. We thought we'd offer food before the long week of isolation.

She was eating live mice and I'm happy to say we were able to convert her to F/T rat pups (of equivalent weight)! Woooohoooo! :D

She was eating live mice and I'm happy to say we were able to convert her to F/T rat pups (of equivalent weight)! Woooohoooo! :D


is it only a week you quarintine your new snakes for mate ?

i usually give them 2 to 4 months quarintine depending on where i buy them from

royal's (balls) ain't my thing but thats a nice wee snake you got there

Shaun, thanks for the concern. I give them a week without any interaction, a week to settle in.

Quarantine lasts (a minimum of) 6-8 weeks for all of my new snakes.
