leo is here

so i got the CL leo and have many questions. his viv looks pretty disgusting atm, should i give it a full clean? should i leave him for 7 days before i handle at all? the guy said he worked a ton and was basically the only one caring for the gecko and held it almost never, so i'll probably have to start slowly with handling. also he's on sand, i've heard they can eat it and block their intentines, any thoughts?
anything else i should know?

as for the crickets, THEY ARE ANNOYING. lol
can i keep them outside? perhaps in the outside closet thing with the door ajar?

i'll get some pics of the gecko when i have him out in the light, i don't wanna blind him and freak him out with camera flashes.

First think to do is dump that sand, Use cage carpet.. It's safe, reusable & it works excellently for a Leo.

Try handling the gecko and see how it behaves, if the poor thing freaks out, then take it easy.. If the gecko seems content with handling, then it will be fine to handle it.

Like any reptile, excessive handling is not something I recommend.

One of the things I like about roaches, they are silent.

If the climate is warm enough, there is no reason you cannot keep them outside, just avoid direct sunlight, they will bake in that critter box quick.

wow. yea, he's a shy guy. i tried to pick him up and he started thrashing around like crazy so i set him down. then i tried to pick him up again and he didn't go AS crazy, but i could tell he really did NOT want to be held at all so i left him alone.
also he seems comparitively small to yours, how old is yours? you have any pics next to your hand or anything, for size comparison?
