I've always liked sand boas ever since I held one at a petsmart a year ago but told myself no no, a ball python and a cornsnake are enough. Well all that has changed since I met my fiance and moved to colorado. We now have 1 ball, 3 corns, and 2 sandies.
Here are some pics.

We don't intend on breading them so they will get split up in a year or less but I was assured they are from separate clutches just incase. I don't know if you guys want to see our cornsnakes or not so I will leave that for a later time unless you insist. We picked these two little gems up for what I think was a good deal, $75 for both

Yeah we are new to this sand, it gets in every crack in your hands. I've read that aspen is a good subtrate, also potting soil. Our corns like to burrow in the aspen and the ball jsut packs it down. I shoudl do a search on this forum for the sand vs. debate, I'm sure there is one on here.
I INSIST :) love to see more pics of all ur guys (or girls ) lol very nice KSBs :) WELCOME

Last but not least, Tnepres. My friends girlfriend didn't like him anymore since it grew out of its cute baby size. This is the snake that rekindled the boyhood fascination for reptiles.

Hi Schmoges and welcome. I love your snakes--they are absolutely beautiful. Of course, I like your sand boas best (I am a little biased as I have one as well). The two you have seem to complement each other well. As for your substrate dilemma--I use aspen and it works extremely well. Each morning the whole floor is an entirely new shape as Eryx spends her nights zipping around. Using a cat litter scoop works well for getting rid of her eliminations and there is no dust. It also vacuums up well when it falls outside of the tank. Good luck figuring out what works for your two!

Thanks everyone. I really like these animals and want to take the best care of them I can. I was just out today getting a ceramic light heater for the KSBs and I got 2 stand up oil heaters for upstairs so I may use one for the snakes if it gets really cold. I wanted to pick up a big humidifier but home depot nor walfart had any guess I might check Lowes this weekend. I had a 1/2 gal ultrasonic humidifier on a timer for the snake room with everything except the KSBs but it stopped working this last weekend. I swear they are awesome humidifiers but they don't last. So i want to pick up another one like we have in our bed room that holds 4+ gallons of water and has a simple fan to evaporate it.
