Maybe his last meal made him feel fat and he is embarrassed to expose himself until he "slims down" again

Oooo secret girlfriend! Maybe he has made some of his substrate into the shape of a female snake?

lol, i can tell when my snake has been super active, cuz he will stir the substrate up in crazy ways digging through it, and i'll see little trails and peaks and such from where he's dug around and it looks all strewn about lol.
one time, he pushed his cardboard box hide across the viv and made it do a 90 degree turn, and i woke up the next day and was like, wth?!?! he rearanged his furnature!! lol

My hoggie will leave "crop circles" in her substrate...its fun to see what design she has left me overnight or in the early morning.

My BRB and Borneo Short-tail do the crop circle and tunnels all the time.

nigma is STILL hiding out. could he be brumating? i hadn't seen him even MOVE from his hide in days so i poked at the hide to make sure he was still moving. he's definetly breathing and moving, but shows NO inclination to leave the hide at the moment lol.
and he hasn't eatin in a month or two.
and now that i think about it, he's prolly been going out of his hide when i'm sleeping or something, cuz the water bowl has been draining steadily lol.

2 hides. his viv is around 90 on the hot side and probably around the 70's on the cold side.
he's actually totally blue atm, he should shed within a week.
the hot side is the one with the red plastic hide, i don't normally have the water sitting on the hot side, it was just there at that moment while i was changing water bowls and taking pictures of things.

My BP has taken to his hide and isnt showing itself - can pretty much guarantee a shed in the next week.
I wouldn't worry male boas come off of food often this time of year especially for sexually mature animals (looking at your profile pic Id say he is). And snakes aren't the most active creatures anyway unless they are hungry or horny they have no need to come out there holes or out from under their debris. So him hiding in his box is perfectly normal.
