I have always understood them to be arboreal but i have also seen them kept in vivs where they have no opporunity to climb.

I think they may be considered semi-arboreal. As for my BRB, he doesn't seem to climb very often. He has the means to climb in his cage but seems to stay on the ground more often than not.

Mostly terrestial. They will occasionally climb, especially as babies, but spend most of their time on the ground when older. That said, it never hurts to give an animal options if you have the means to do so!

Hope this helps,

I agree with Snakesitter; if you have the means to provide them with both terrestrial and arboreal space, then let them decide if they are terrestrial, semi- or fully arboreal!

My little BRB loves to burrow and rarely climbs, despite having access to vertical space and climbing "toys." However, when out, she loves to use my arm as a climbing tree and she has to be one of the most graceful climbers I've ever handled.

She climbs on anything when out of her viv, but ninja-climbs when in her viv (i.e., when I'm not around/awake--I've found her poo on a shelf/perch, but never have seen her up there!).

Before i switched over to racks, my BRB had a tree in his cage and he barley used it, maybe i would catch her on it once a week or so... mine, like CH^4 burrows alot and rarly climbs, i think it depends on the snake its self...

Mine use to climb quite a bit until i switched from news paper to reptile bark. Now he burrows mostly. I will catch him climbing sometime late at night.

Sounds like consensus has been reached. ;-)

Can't help you on the rtbs question, sorry -- have never kept one!
