Ive read a fair bit here about feeding live vs frozen and it seems frozen wins. Having said that, and putting aside increased chance of mites, I was still curious about one thing.
Im buying a male sand boa and since they dont get very large, I was wondering if I could feed him live fuzzies for life to avoid injury? Just feed more or more often?

While I had my ksb, I fed it pinkies till she was big enough to take mice. I fed frozen thawed though, not live. I'm sure an adult would have no problem tackling a live mouse.... I'm sure some one will chime in with a better answer, but I think hopper its whole life will make it under fed, unless fed several hopper at a time.

I dont think the argument for feeding frozen has anythibg to do with mites. It is mainly based on the fact that feeding live is a risk for the snake in terms of injury. As soon as the prey has teeth and claws no matteqr how active it is it could harm thw snake. F/t is also cheaper in the majority of cases.
