So my JCP Sydney just bit, coiled, and started to constrict her first rat pup.
If you know my situation then you would be very happy because I've been having trouble switching to rats.
So while she was constricting the rat pup I accidentally bumped into the dresser and she stopped constricting and completely let go and wanted to kill me.
She then went back to her perch and is looking over her land.
Hopefully she'll take it by morning.
Any thoughts?

i would just give it some patience.. i didnt have to make a mouse/rat switch, but i fed my JCP the day after he just got home after a very long car ride, and he did the exact same thing. Struck, constricted, then i stood up and all the attention was on me.. So i went grocery shopping and when i came back there was no rat and a nice lump in phantom's belly :)

The fact he got as far as he did then he will do it again, if he doesnt take itovernight toss it and try again next week, i would say you are at the final hurdle, stick with it!!

Thanks guys!
Silvsupratt, I first saw this as a bumper sticker about 8 years ago. Very strong.
I cant wait until she starts eating rats so I can get her bigger :)

Tyler, it sounds like she was too irritated/stressed to eat at that time. Once she strikes and constricts, give her some privacy...I did this with my JCP for the first couple of feeds after transitioning her to rats and now I can watch the entire process, snap pics at anytime, and even bump her feed box with no ramifications!
silvsupratt, if you just got your JCP, you should try to give him a week of isolation to de-stress prior to feeding. His reaction also sounds like he was too stressed to eat. But obviously, when you left him be, he enjoyed his meal--ninja style!
