You know I heard of that to when I had my pet store 4 years ago but when looking I asked my reptile wholesaler and pet supplier they laughed. He said maybe for mites on plants(Lady bugs are hunters)but not reptiles or rodent mites.
I use Nix on and for my snakes/cages and around my rat tanks but never on the rats them self or they have sticky pads to place around your set up to stop them from spreading. I would just kill off all my rats and start all over and that sucks so I would just use Nix.

Cheers

the get sold as defender mites over here

theres a company that sells all types of bugs to organic growers

someone did a thread on another forum about them where he said they worked 100% on his scrub python collection when they had mites

thats about all i can remember about it though

i thought they were realy good if you don't like exposing your snakes to chemicals

cheers shaun

Hypoaspis miles (predatory mites) work great. I have used them and they do work, but you need to make sure that they have damp soil otherwise they will die before they do their job. They are also pretty inexpensive.

Obviously Nix and PAM work too. I used the Hypoaspis miles because I had alot of babies at the time and Nix and PAM is alot for a little one to take. I have lost babies to Nix.
