Lost snake in house (Kenyan Sand Boa)

Hello. We lost our young Kenyan Sand Boa in our house. We had him yesterday, thought he was safe in his cage, but today, he is not in his cage. The screen lid was fastened so we are not sure how he go out, but he did. Any suggestions as to where to look? We've looked all over, but still have not found him. If anyone has some suggestions, we would be grateful!

This is the obvious one: have you thoroughly checked his substrate?

From there, I'd start looking in warm, dark hiding places; if you have floorboard heaters in the room, look there. Start in the room where his cage is and don't leave a single stone unturned. Any seemingly "safe," dark, and cozy hiding spot. He likely will not be out in the open and if he is slithering about, he is likely against a wall. But chances are he's hiding somewhere.

If you feed F/T, you could leave a nice, hot, fresh meal on a plate to see if you can entice him out of hiding. It could almost be like a trap; put the food item in a paper bag that is on its side, and put a lamp about 12" above the bag (make sure it won't fall!). Then he'll have a warm meal, and a warm hiding spot...there are other ways, and I'm sure other members will help you out.

hey i'm sorry that your snake got lost my fiance's macklot python came out of it's terrarium and was looking for him all over he soon came out of a hole in the wall that my fiance punched so you might wanna look for holes where he/she might have went in through or also places that are veryyyy warm and dark i hope you find him i make sure i put something on top of my terrarium so my snake won't get out just to be safe

I keep hearing about a soda bottle trap if he's not to big whet u cut the top off a 2liter bottle place a food item inside and turn the top around and tape it together so the bottle top points inside it will make it so he can get in but hard to get back out other than that look everywher even if u think he couldn't sqeeze in ther under rugs in furniture in dressers under sinks fridges dryers tvs and so on

:)Hello and welcome! How tall of a cage was he in? How long is your KSB? Did you look under the cage? How high off the floor is the cage kept? I ask these question because KSB are so small and not great climbers by snake standards. My buddy Shawn has one that on 3 different occasion he swore it got out after looking all over he find it in it's sand hiding. When he ran his finger threw the sand trying to find it the KSB kept moving out of the way so he thought it got out, but hadn't. You could slowly and very carefully scoop the sand out and see if you find him. Best of luck.:)
