Hello Folks, i have found myself in the fortunate position of promoting the scales and tails magazine and its distribution over here in Britian. Joy from scales and tails tells me it is now available in the USA and any feed back from you guys would be gratefully received, i have just received from joy all 15 copies and notice Brian Barczyk (snakebytestv) is contributing articles for them, which is another plus to what in my opinion is a excellent magazine and should do well in the UK. Joy and the team are clearly committed to turning out an informative magazine..... anyone out there subscribe.. Feed back please. Much appreciated John:) The website is Scales & Tails Australia - The premier resource for Reptiles and Australia. (http://www.scalesandtails.com.au)

Thanks very much for taking the time to reply Percy39, Joy kindly sent me all 15 issues and i find it excellent, especially for keepers of Aussie herps. Its the shipping costs that mess things up a bit. Do you guys pay the cover price of $9.95, which is about £6.40 in english pounds:)Thanks in advance

Thanks MarvelFreak, i know there was another aussie reptile mag that has gone under, reptiles australia i think. And i also know Joy Kuligowski, the advertising manager is snowed under taking on unpublished articles from the sad demise of the reptile australia mag. I having the advantage of all their issues and back issues including issue 1 which you cant get for love or money that joy sent me think it would be a benefit to the uk readership, and if you keep aussie herps is a must.Just have to see how many brits subscribe, but the articles and info are superb.
Both Joys lads are successfull herpers, infact if you get time check out denspythons.com Thats Denver one of the sons website, his BHPs are amazing.:)

The reptile magazine i get you can go and order back issues from these web site. Reptiles: Snakes, Lizards, Turtles, Tortoises, Amphibians, and Crocodilians Resource Center - ReptileChannel.com (http://www.reptilechannel.com/?sc_cid=4616737)
The magazine been around for almost as long as i had snake. I have some issue that are 12 to 15 years old. I have one that 12 years old with a really good article on Carpets. Talk about one i never even heard of any where else. I like the internet, but i love reading magazine to. A lot of times when someone ask a question on here about reptile that no one knows anything about i can find info in one of my old magazine on them.
Speaking of the reptile magazine i just got my new one yesterday it's got a really good article on Bull Snakes and Tegus. So if anyone on here keep either one of these you should pick up the new issue. I never knew there was so many morphs of Bull Snakes.

Scales and Tails is a great little mag, It will only get better now as well since it lost it's competitor mag in Oz recently. It's the last remaining reptile mag in Australia now. Consequently the writers for the other mag will now be submitting their articles to S&T which would only improve the content.

cheers shaunAs said Shaun, i have every copy of the mag,it,s a bit like watching a good television series, the more copies you read the better it gets... its the shipping that is the problem. Keepers like you,me, bussers etc would,nt flinch at paying for a informative and quality publication, but to make it viable from Joys point of veiw i need to ship 200 copies at a time,(which would gain momentum once over here) its over in the USA, so i dont see why it should,nt work over here.Joy is a hard worker and between the two of us something will get sorted for 2011.:)

Yeah its a rather cheap magazine and has some great stuff in it, especially for those overseas who have to know the right people to get the good information. You would love this mag Shaun as would anyone who keeps oz natives.

Your dead right percy39, as said the shipping from OZ to UK adds to the price, but the more people who see it, the more will realise its well worth it, as you say especially to those of us involved with aussie stuff:) all comments are welcome, any from the USA where its available now.:)
