I love how similar yours looks to my little fella, tho he is only 12" long at fully grown!! I would also love a sav but havent the space or ability to cope with a lizard that big.

beleive it or not dirt from different areas has different qualities to it. your dirt must be more moist or have a adhesive esq quality

VERY NICE SAV! hes picture perfect, seems really interested in your camera :) my sav is filthy all the time as well, the only time hes clean like that is when i washed him, and soon after hes back to covered in dirt, i think he gets wet, burrows himself, come out get wet and repeats that until hes got a real good layer built up then chills under the heatlamp untill i have seen the mess hes made of himself :P
