These are pics of my two gravid womas, they have been mating since August with the last observed mating been seen early- to mid october. Both girls have not fed since end of september. The male i used stopped eating in july and started eating again early December after losing all interest in either females in November even though i continued to introduce him to them. Still a long way to go, i would expect a pre lay shed in 20-30 days, then another 26-28 before they lay, then 54-60 days egg incubation:)

Hi Folks, thanks to all of you for your kind words, i will of course be keeping everyone posted, wether the outcome is successful or otherwise, as even our dissappointments are worth sharing.
The breeding season for these guys has seemed to have taken forever, the male stopped eating voluntarily mid July, and day and night constantly cruised his viv. The girls continued feeding, but his activity was relentless. I introduced him to F1 early august, mating was observed after day one and continued for the next five days, F2 refused a meal and the male was placed with her for the next week, mating again witnessed through out the week.(It should be noted i tend not to give any of my snakes heat on a night, and the room falls to whatever the ambiant tempreture is in that particular season, some nights warmer than others some much cooler) F1 and F2 were alternated weekly for the attentions of M1, he was always willing through out august, september, october, november, with october to early november been the most intense. Both the girls ate the odd small meal, but by october had ceased feeding. By now the male was looking thin and felt very light, he had been performing for 4 month. He started eating again early december, and showed no more interest in either girl by mid november. Its to be noted womas will breed any time of the year, however successful copulations only seem to occur when cooled. The ambiant room temps in my snake room were a lot cooler in the months of sept, oct, nov. I have struggled in that i only have 1 three year old male available this year, my other male will be up to size next year and should make the breeding a bit less hectic. As a foot note i would add that the male told me when the time was right, the cues for him may have been the night-time temps(which got cooler as the months went on) or that as i was informed by a very knowledgable herpetologist of many years Mr Frank Schofield, that england had been subject to low air pressure throughout august/september which snakes are in tune with, and stimulate a breeding response. Whatever the reason it is important we watch our animals for changes in behaviour..... after all they dont read the books:)
