Okay so for the last 2 months my tattoo guy has been drawing up ideas for me. This is a rough sketch he came up with.... please keep in mind it will have the pattering and coloring of my BRB. I just gave him pics of her today so he just threw those scales in there.

What you all think, be honest.http://i805.photobucket.com/albums/yy336/DGilliland22/IMAG0391.jpg

I also want to add they this will be covering up a cross I got last year as another cover up. Not choice, just bad tattoos....

I think it would be a lot cooler if he based the head off a Viper! Check out these pics.....

Also look up some vipers on google.

I also think the tongue needs a little work. I don't like how spread out the ends of the tongue are.

Buuuuuut these are just my opinions.

Looks dope for sure. Wish I had the money for that!

If you want complete honesty, here you go:

The snake looks okay, IF, it was supposed to be something other than a BRB (it reminds me of a fang-less cottonmouth or copperhead...use your imagination).

BRB's have much different head shapes and the scales look like they belong to a rough scaled viper (my BRB has extremely smooth scales, and I'd almost go as far as saying her scales, in a very small way, feel somewhat like a rubber boa....loong stretch, but again, use your imagination!).

I'd let your artist do some more drawing, now that he has an actual picture of your BRB (body proportions will change as your snake ages....keep that in mind). Don't be afraid to have him change the entire drawing, as it's going to be on your body for the rest of your life (as you know!). There's been times when my artist spent nearly 2 hours just getting the ditto placed in the right location! He'll understand. Good luck!

Hey, thats what im talking about!! thanks for the imput...

1st, the head will be redone... i just gave him pictures of my BRB and he will be redoing the head. he didnt know what it looked like when i talked to him 1st and he just sort of drew a snake in for a general idea...

as for the scales, hes going to color each on in individually to match the patterens and colors of my BRB. - OR - he will not put them im and just color in the snake the brown/orange color...

after all is said and done it should look 99% like my BRB.

the tongue will also be redone too...

When you look at the drawing, just try and visualize a BRB there, not what he drawn... as the snake there is just a "place holder"...

anything else? let me know!!

oh yea, as for it being after a viper, thats not out of the question... i would really rather it be after a BRB though...

his lines look very nice and the body flows well id go with just doing the color pattern and hinting at scales here and Ther if I wher u it will end up looking very cluterd with all the scales and the pattern except the belly scales ofcours keep up the posts id love to see what he comes up with I'm an artist and love tattoos

So your saying to just color it in and not have all the individual scales? That is what I'm leaning towards... I will keep everything updated and up to speed, please keep opinions flowing in:)

My first thought was the mouth, the snakes dont open their mouths to stick their tongues out, apart from that am liking it.

One thing that keeps coming to mind with this tattoo is that i think it would look good to have the scales drawn in faintly but with the colouring being more dominant than the scale lines (kinda like it looks with the crayons!). Have you made any decisions yet lil boa?

Yes I have... I am getting a snake tattoo, just now now. I have decides to keep the cross, and see if I can think of anything to go with my cross instead of covering it up.

Plus I may be getting this tattoo on my leg, or side. It was too cool to use as a cover up when it might mess this tattoo up. So I am getting a snake tat, just going to finish up some that I have now and get some cheaper ones I want 1st... I did just get a new tat though...

Saw the pics of the new one, very nice. Good idea to wait and get the snake tatt done "right" too.
