I have a 10yr old California Kingsnake and for the past three weeks he has refused to eat any mice he's been given whether its live or frozen. The white bands on his body have slowly become brown in color and he has been just laying around the cage. He seems life-less, and his skin is clamy and slimey feeling. The temp in the cage is 88-90 degrees. I do not think it has mites, but I am not 100% certain.

I was curious if anyone has experienced something similiar or if someone knows that sickness he may be suffering from. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I can post picture of the snake if necessary.

Pictures are helpful..

This time of year many snakes will "shut down" for winter mode.

But with that nice hot cage you have, that snake should be lively...

any vets near you that treat snakes?

Take your snake to the vet! That's the only way you will find the exact reason your snake is sick. It will give you piece of mind and the snake will get the care it deserves. Good luck hope all goes well.

You should take him to the vet asap. You also need to cool down one side of his cage. He needs a temperature gradient bigger than 88-90.
