Have a look at this! It`s soooo cold here this morning that we`ve got inch long ice spikes on everything! The plants in these pictures aren`t spikey plants, they`re smooth. The spikes are purely frost....

I`ve been trying to get a decent photo of this little guy for ages. He follows me everywhere when I`m in the garden hoping for some food! lol He`s the sweetest little Robin you ever did see. (Which covers all of them really being as they all look the same)

that's kind of cool, i wonder what makes it freeze in that spike pattern.

Yeah it`s odd isn`t it. It`s called a Hoarfrost apparently. It`s weird because only certain things have frost on them....

Was minus six when got in the car this morning, nice not to have to scrape the windows tho as the hoarsfrost needs something "bumpy" to grip to and it wont settle on the windows.

I can't complain....we're at about 38-42 degrees right now!

I do live on the coast, so occasionally--like 2 weeks ago--we get our share of snow and below 20 degree weather!

Stay warm everyone!

Cool :) It looks like it`s been snowing here but it`s all just frost! It`s that cold it actually looks quite scary and dangerous... The cold isn`t roaring like a lion like it does in that stupid film though.... lol

Not sure if anyone remembers this pic... It's frost (essentially clouds freezing to whatever they touch)

very cool pics Feebo. it is nice to see you active on other fora. I have made myself scarce at SRP lately (inattentive)
We have had a bit of a warm front move in it is 31 degrees F. It has been snowing on and off, but we are supposed to get another rush of snow today. I hope not as finals are this week and I drive 40 miles everyday to get to the university.
It is nice to be out f the negatives though.
@Infernalis - That is what we call a daily commute

That is the typical roadway where I live, so 4 wheel drive is mandatory if you want to get where you want to be.
