Hi, I bought a Ahaetulla sp. yesterday. but, I have a Dendrelaphis pictus. I will put the Ahaetulla and D. pictus in the same aquarium. Is it danger for ahaetulla/d.pictus?
how about ahaetulla's food? is it same with d.pictus' food?
how about the housing? Should I give more branch in the aquarium?
I need the information.
thanks..
Ruben.

Very neat snake you have there. Ahaetulla are frog/lizard eaters. If it has not been switched to rodents, you will most likely need to feed it green anoles and/or house geckos. These can be purchased from most pet stores for $4-7. You can try to get it switched to rodents by dipping pre-killed or frozen/thawed pinky mice in the juice from canned tuna, or rubbing them on a frog, but it takes a LOT of time and patience to switch these guys onto mammals. Ahaetulla is a very delicate species sensitive to temps and humidity so make sure you have enough humidity and the proper temps (85-90). They will not feed if they are not comfortable.

Also, I just noticed you planned to keep 2 species in the same cage. Big NO-NO. NEVER keep two species of snake together- it is stressful for them and often ends in one killing the other or at least injuring it. I would get a separate setup for each animal. One word of advice- don't buy any animal unless you are sure you have space/time/money for it and are knowledgeable on its care. Trying to lean how to keep and care for a new species once you already have it is far more stressful and dangerous for the animal than doing your research beforehand and bringing it home to an established cage.

he's in indonesia kimberley
dont know if that makes it easier for him to get feeder lizards
or how that figures with his humidity etc
maybe you noticed he's in indonesia and the above still counts

It doesn't matter where he is- he still needs to care for it properly if it's being kept in captivity. Being in Indonesia probably makes it easier to manage humidity in the house, but that really depends on the house. They're awesome snakes, but a major pain in the butt to keep them healthy.
