This is a really great forum. I am signed up to half a dozen others, but this is the only one I post on. It really does feel like family here. Can't wait to see your pics freebody! And, yeah, if anyone were to find their way to MN. drinks are on me!

cheers shaunYes Shaun your right again, a big dream of mine is to get to that great herping continent. I am sure i am not alone on this forum, as so many of us keep aussie herps and to see them in their native country would be heart warming... in the meantime forums such as this where we can share information with people from the USA, Canada, New Zealand, Austrilia and others means we have a wealth of help and information at our fingertips.... It would be something if we all met up someday, or sometime, we are all brothers and sisters in this hobby of ours.:)

Not like you to slip up my friend, but we have three
The grass snake
The adder
And the smooth snake, which is the one you can be forgivern for forgetting as these are only found down south a long way from your home.I have been fortunate in having experienced all these animals, infact is was the humble grass snake that got me started in the hobby.
Adders i used to seek out and observe at hamsterly forrest, smaller than you imagine, and quite facinating, i was lucky enough to see them breeding in the wild, and the smooth snake which is smooth scaled unlike the other two which are keeled down in poole area Dorset.:)

Welcome to the forum, pythonman. Let me just say that your trio is totally drool-worthy. I absolutely adore diamond pythons (the closest I have is a nice Python Pete line 75% DJCP intergrade from Luke Snell). But someday I'd love to have some pure diamonds. I hope you enjoy your stay here. We're all a pretty friendly bunch and love to share stories, tips, etc. Keep the pics coming; they're incredible!

thanks for clearing that up mate;)
so technically i was correct (im in scotland)
i vaguely remember someone posting pictures of the smooth snake
we used to look for adders up a local forrest at a place called jackdaw cliffs
a small rocky outcrop at the edge of a woodland that faced north
we used to find adders late in the day basking if i remember correctly (was 10 or 12 at the time)
i have a general interest in and can appreciate a lot of species
but its morelia i'm truely obssesed with
diamonds to be presice
there were 2 females produced by ollie with unusuall dorsal spotting/stripping this year mate...!!
a friend of mine was over picking up a zebra.
then went back over to pick up a visual granite
he saw them in the flesh both times.he said they were very unusuall looking and special
he reckons he would have took one had they been male
this guy breeds a lot of morelia and he is trying his female diamond this year
i think a lot of folk are still a tad apprehensive re diamond breeding in the uk
cheers shaun
