I know that he's gettin' ready to shed, but different people tell me that the squeaking isn't normal when shedding, but then others say it's completely normal
and i'm a little confused

the squeaking is not common, it seems to come when i'm handling him.

i'm sorry but i don't know what the temp is, i ordered a thermometer and hydrometer but they haven't arrived yet. i would say about 80 degrees with the most of the 30 gal cage. and maybe 40, 50, or 60% humidity. i use Eco Earth shredded coconut fiber as substrate, he first began squeaking when i kept the substrate moist. i dry it out now and the squeaking slowed down when i did so. but he still squeaks sometimes. could it be respiratory infection?

You need to install at least one heating pad under the cage.

The preferred method is to have 2 hides, one over a heat mat, and one on the other end, then the snake can thermo-regulate it's own body temps.

For BP a basking lamp is useless, they are nocturnal and will flee from the bright light rather than sit under it to get warm.

i have a heating lamp on tank. but it's a nighttime heating bulb, it heats without emitting bright light.
