If you feed him on the paper is it possible that the prey left scent on there? If so maybe he smelt that and ate it?? Just a thought......

my brum did that once but with newspaper, i use to put newpaper in her cage for feeding time and she eats on it so she would not get aspen in her month, i went in to check on her and the newspaper was gone.took about a month for her to poop is out. i was scard because she was still small and the paper she ate was a good size.

now non of my snake get newspaper anymore.

I always feed my snake in a bare poly tote, BUT one time I had a snake regurgitate 2 hours after it at, so the snake was back in it's cage.

I noticed movement in the cage, I look and that snake had picked the mouse back up and was trying to eat it again, this time the mouse was all sticky and it looked like the snake had a "cud" of aspen shavings in its mouth.

I immediately reached in there (bites be damned) and grabbed this "wad of aspen" away from my snake only to discover that there was a regurgitated mouse in the middle of it all.

Freaky stuff can and will happen from time to time.

me to :) i really wasnt even sure if it happened until i opened the cage and was thinking my god thats a huge log, then i picked it up and noticed it was paper towel , then right away i was thinking, Oh yeah, i was thinking i put more bedding than i cleaned out that day :P im lucky he wasnt having problems and i had not noticed. i just had my female get constipated a few weeks ago, i noticed she looked backed up and began giving her a warm bath, which i read is what you do before you take it to the vet, and it worked, she tossed out a few rock hard poos and then that weeks meal came out normal, she doing great now. :)
