Leave him be for another day or two. My Borneo is health as can be, but won't move for weeks on end. But that doesn't mean he not out and about when i am sleeping or not in the room.

My jcp spends daylight in his hide then about seven or so at night will get up onto his perches in hunting pose, back into his hide by about five in the morning. I have corn snakes that idont see ever apart from feeding or changing/watering there mosshides.

Snakes hiding while they digest meals is a perfectly natural, normal behavior. Since your snake just ate 2 days ago, it is most likely full and happy just hanging out in its dark, warm hide. Give it time and it will come out and about again on its own. ;)

Does anyone know how to lure an escaped snake out from his "impossible to get to without destroying the apartment" hiding spot? If so, please contact me! Its been two weeks, I know where he is, but cannot get to him.

Hes a very docile, never bitten anyone ball python. Had him for 2 1/2 years now. So hes used to me. Get ahold of me at hut_macher@ hotmail.com. Thanks guys!

Food! Jiggle a prey item where he can smell it, should tempt him out, once he is fully out pick him up and get him safe before actually giving him the prey tho.

perfectly normal behavoir for a newly shed carpet

most of mines pick a hot quiet place to recouperate after a shed

ive heard theory's that the shedding process is uncomfortable and a bit of a chore for them

i would'nt worry about it

cheers shaun

My JCP only leaves his hide to eat, and only basks after meals. Any other time, he stays in his hide. Last time he shed, his skin loooped through his hide *twice* (keep in mind, his favorite hide is a human skull. Wish I'd taken a picture, it was out an eye, in its mouth, then out a hole at the back).

Some snakes are just lazy. My BP Mr. Slithers is so lazy that we make fun of her name. She never moves. Mr. Slithered... once... back in 1978. For three months this fall, the most I saw of him was when his head snapped out from his hide to grab his rat and drag it back in. I've left him lying on a bed, or a table, forgotten about him, and come back hours later to find him in the exact same place.

Personally, I wouldn't be worried about a snake spending too much time in its hide any more than I'd be worried about a cat spending too much time on a windowsill. It's just one of those things they do.

Now then Jay, i am sure your questions been answered, when you think about it your carpet has just performed one of the most stressful actions in his life in sloughing and he,s had a good meal. That carpet sounds to me as if its entitled itself to a bit of peace and quiet.:)

I've had my boa for about a week and he has not gone in either one of his hides he's not active unless I take him out unless that he jus sits in the corner on the hot side any know why this could be

is your tank too cold? do you have a hide in the hot side as well as the cold side? my dumerils isnt super active, but he does spend a ton of time in both of his hides at either side. (mostly the cold) and my tank isnt even high temp comparitively, i think my boa just likes to be slightly colder.
