New snake??

Snakes were origionally my thing now my husband is very excited and is wanting another. :yes: i can not realy go much bigger then a ball until i move. so does anyone have any recomindations?i see lots of people love corns and garters. We found a wonderful looking black and white king but i have no information on those guys (he was 40) I am open to any and all sugestions. thanks :elvis:

How long til you move and what size viv could you provide up til this time? Will give us a chance to think of snakes that will fit your restrictions for now. It may be that you could get a larger snake that wont grow too big in the time beforeyou move and that will open up your options more.

My husband built me a tv stand that is 24 deep 25 tall and 40 wide all it needs is a piece of glass and some heat. That is the biggest I can go right now the tv is on it. We will be moving in about a year we are in yakima and he drives to ellensburg for school then we are moving to spokane for more school. Thanks nanna

Sounds great for a corn. Corn Snakes in my opinion are better starters than BP's.

Matter of personal preference, but I like hyper active snakes the most.

garters are great to look at but i enjoy handling too much for them :) might have some in the future

The collection has some other hyper snakes in it too.

I keep a black racer, most people won't keep them. They hate handling, they are so fast that if they get loose, best of luck with getting it back, they bite, they musk, they are flighty and ill tempered.

But they are so freaking cool, and the most beautiful shade of black.. it's not a bad trade off.

Most of my milks are impossible to handle for long as well. Except the one I found in my yard, she is so mellow she acts like a corn snake.

that bottom snake is a Lampropeltis Triangulum Triangulum.

Might be able to put a divider in your proposed viv and keep 2 of them.

Have you thought about sand boas? ;) And are you set on snakes? Or would a lizard be considered as well? If so, I highly recommend crested geckos! (Yes, Dave! I have fallen completely for those two little buggers!) EASY to care for and only require room temperature. They eat Repashy, which is easily found online and through most pet stores, with the occassional cricket. :)
If you're set on a snake, how about a mexican king? Pure black and easy to care for. It grows about the same size as a corn and about the same care. :) Milksnakes are awesome looking little snakes as well.
If you're interested in something to look at and not handle so much, why not create a frog viv? Poison dart frogs are beautiful and make an awesome display animal! :)
Just throwing a few suggestions out there....

BTW... where abouts in Yakima do you live? I used to live in Tampico on S.F. Ahtanum road. I used to LOVE going up into the foothills on the weekends! LOTS of wildlife up there and beautiful country! :D
