My female Carpet "Magic" always threatens to bite but these days fairly rarley does. Today, she did! lol Not much to look at though, she`s a very clean biter. Nice latch on, squeeze, let go.....

I was quite impressed with myself too, I saw it coming and didn`t move an millimeter. I just let out a little "Ow." lol
No damage really, just some little tiny holes. She could have left me with a cool scar! Tut...

Jeeez Magic if you`re going to bite me I at least want a good hard hit and a cool scar! Huh....

Yeah right! lol I`m glad her mate doesn`t tend to do that, his head is so big I couldn`t quite close my hand over it if I were foolish enough to try lol :D I`m quite surprised actually, the amount of hours I`ve spent with her building up the trust I almost feel like I`ve actually communicated with her directly...

Nice, its always good when they give you a reminder that they are snakes.

Feebo
10-13-10, 05:11 AM
It is isn`t it, it`s actually a very healthy reminder. I couldn`t agree more.... :) Actually if I tried a bit harder i`m sure I could agree more, hang on..... HUGGGGHHHMMMMMGGG !!! Ahhhhhhh There you go, I agree just a little bit more now .

Oh man I got edited in that post! No need :( lol I can`t believe my silly mood was edited. It wasn`t technically a swear word either! Not technically... lol Interestingly enough Infernalis, I notice that the word "Piss" Used in the right context on this mostly American forum is ok. "I was pretty pissed with this guy" That is actually a swear word like any other swear word in my country and you really wouldn`t be happy AT ALL if your kids started saying it. But that`s ok here? I didn`t actually swear, I think the context was more the issue there. Would that have been more acceptable if I`d have used an American word like "Pooped?" Or was the very image of `ol Feebo losing his pre digested dinner down his leg the offensive part? lol *waits for the word police to turn up with thier morality batons* lol

imo the word pissed in america is not viewed in the same way us brits view it mate.its not as bad a word over there.

i think you may have been edited because kids come on here and i think you were correct in pointing out it may have also been the context in which it was used as well

imo theres no need to have a pop at wayne mate

he's a moderator and imo a fair one,the mans only doing his job as far as i'm concerned.

imo you did swear mate you used the past tense of s***e so technically it could be offencive to youngsters.

i have 4 kids and 3 grandkids and i would'nt fancy having to explain the word used to the younger of them.

folk have to remember mate its not an over 18 forum so we have to be carefull of how we say things.

surely you dont want this place turning out like our most popular uk reptile forum

r**k is the one im on about.hope you can work it out as i certainly dont want to steer anyone onto said forum.

dont want a fight mate just adding my humble opinion

cheers shaun

Ah British swear words, and insults crack me up. they always seem so much more cultured than American insults and swear words (trust me i know them all being in the military)

I've never been in the military. (You have my respect and thanks sir for your service) But I know all the words as well, and I have to agree they sound much better with that Brit accent behind them.

Yep, that`s a good point! Mind you, I`d be mighty impressed if our American friends could even tell when Rab.C was swearing or when he was asking for a cup of tea Shauny! lol <-- See? Joking! Sheesh... No worries mate, it happens doesn`t it. I (and I presume other people aswell) am always careful to make sure I use lols or emoticons to show the intent in my posts being as people aren`t able to see my face. :)

swear words yes i was including insults too the military likes to make new one up like blue falcon or a charlie foxtrot and i believe that fubar originated in the USMC there are tons more that i never heard of before basic training and they call you all of these things on a daily basis.

What is the origin of the word "wanker"? Why do people in the UK use it, and what is it's equivalent in US profanity? | Answerbag (http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/67688)

That`s why the emoticons and lols are so important. It may seem a bit childish at a glance for someone that doesn`t frequent forums but they do a very important job in my opinion. They shown intent, they try to make up for not being able to see a human face :)

I have found this to be true in a big way.

A simple "wink" at the end of a sentance can signify "I'm just picking" and lighten the mood. ;)
