Hello and welcome! Is it a loud or soft hiss? My big jungle make a soft hiss sound when i try putting her back in her cage. It actaully kind of normal for carpets. I read a big thread on another site a while back about it. How does it act when it hisses? Is it jumpy or does it strike at you?

Hello and welcome to the forum! Larger adult carpets make a sound similar to a hiss when they are excited or alert. All of mine do it, and it has nothing to do with respiratory issues. It's just a rather loudish exhale, but not quite a hiss and it's not aggression. I think it's equivalent to a dog panting when worked up or happy. It can be especially noticeable right before a shed, as the nasal area can get dry and swollen with the oils the skin secretes to facilitate the shed process. As long as your CP is eating well and otherwise active and healthy, I would not worry about the breathing. I'd love to see pictures of your snake too, btw. I'm a huge carpet buff. :)

Hello and welome to the forum. As Kim and Chuck have said it is quite normal for larger carpets to make a slight hiss noise when they are excited . If its launchin a your face or hads then its aggression otherwise it will be excitement.

hmmm. cross breed snakes have always bothered me. i mean they make for great pets but i want a cp no cp/diamond or a Columbian red tail not a nic/col red tail boa you know its kinda like stop trying to breed that much and just enjoy what was already put on this earth
still beautiful. what is your basis on the possible mix?

nice snakes :) carpets pythons are great snakes to keep arent they. I like cross breeding, anything with diamond in it makes for a beautifull snake IMHO. :)
