Good Evening,
Yay, I just purchased my very first ball python today! She is a Pastel and very pretty. Lots of yellowish in her, but the person I bought it from said that might fade a bit when she gets bigger. I can't wait to take her home. The person I bought her from is going to take care of her until I can get her setup ready in a couple weeks.
I will put pics up when I have them. Can't decide on a name........I had boy names lined up but can't think of any good girl names. Thinking maybe Calypso or maybe Lafayette......dunno
Anyway, I am excited
Also, I am curios for all the things that are in the cage like the water dish and what not....what do you use to clean them with. I just want to make sure what soaps or cleaning things to avoid. Any help would be great!!

Hello! I use bleach water for cleaning. I have a 32 oz spray bottle that i put one cap of bleach in, then fill the rest of the way with water. I use this for cleaning water bowls, cages and eveything in the cages. Water bowl i rinse out really good in the sink then let air before refilling. My cage and everything else after sraying with bleach water i wipe down really good, then take a second spray bottle of just water a spray everything down and let air dry. I alway make sure the smell of bleach is gone before putting my snake back in there cages.

hello and welcome
for normal day to day cleaning i use the normal washing up liquid we use on our own dishes.
when it comes to disenfecting stuff i use f10 diluted at 1:250
it can also be used in a nebuliser to treat ri's at the same dilution strength
cheers shaun

Congatulations on the new snakey. You will just need two hides, one in the hot end and one in the cool end. Also a few branches to climb and some good bedding for her.
I use F10 like Shaun its great stuff and is very easy to use and very safe for your snake.

i use healthy habitat spray from the pet store (petco) and i just remove all poo and such then wipe down with water and sponge (for tanks only that is a must i feel helps prevent cross contamination) then i spray it down let it sit for a minute or two then i wipe down with the same sponge and water then i towel dry (clean towel only) in some cases i do the bleach but thats if the tank really needs an overhaul. sometimes snakes embody the god of really gross and f things up lol
