New BRB addict!!

Hi everyone!!

Glad to have found this site. Lots of great info here and its definitely helping me a lot! Picked up a Brazilian rainbow boa a couple weeks ago and can't stop thinking about it :crazy: Just a little baby but he is doing real well. Tried many years ago when I was 17 and did not have enough knowledge back then to properly care for them :no::sorry: For sure this time it will be different. I think I'm already off to a great start thanks to this place.

I finally got my brb after i had corns for a couple of years... and the first time i held mine i fell in love with them all.. theyre amazing snakes and i hope you enjoy keeping yours just as much... hows yours been for temperament by the way?? mines actually quite docile, especially considering theyre supposed to be nippy when theyre young xx Amazing pics aswell x

I've had him for 3 weeks now and he hasn't shed yet. He was born August 10 so he's about 2 months now. I'm assuming he shed with the breeder already and should be going through another one shortly? Yeah I've seen a lot of nice BRBs here and I hope mine grows up to be as nice as everyone here.

He's super docile. Sometimes I wonder if there is anything wrong with him because when I take him out he doesn't move much. I don't know if it's because I pull him out of his hide while he's sleeping and it just takes him awhile to get up. I don't know? Do you notice yours exploring or even out at all during the day?

Mine BRB always balls up like a ball python when i first pick him up.

wow so theyre both docile... No theo doesnt really come out in the day and hes still secretive at night aswell.... im putting alot of that down to being a young snake... theos only about 2 weeks older than yours and he had his second shed last week (first shed was with the breeder)... mine is quite active when i handle him... if your brb is coiling or burying his head in his body then hes abit scared.... try handling him more to evening time when theyre active and see how that goes.... so how is your brb feeding?? x

Maybe mines docile because i'm handling him in the mornings and not in the evenings. I'll try that tonight and see how that goes. Maybe i'll see his true personality. Hope he doesn't strike :freakedout: hahaahahaha.

The breeder said he was on live hoppers since birth and when I got him 3 weeks ago, the same day I gave him a live hopper no problem. Then last week I gave him f/t and took that no problem. I'll handle him late evening today and then feed him again and see if I go 3 for 3 :)

thanks, hes awesome... mine went straight into f/t and hes fed fine apart from last night so ill try again in a day or so... do you know what sex ur brb is? im not sure so ill have to wait a while x

The breeder probed him for me and said that it was male. Said the probe didn't go in far so it was a male.??

lol...glad i never have to be probed!! I got mine cheaper as he hadnt had time to sex it, n hes not old enough to be probed i dont think
