Sweet looking snakes. Can't wait to see pics of your corn once it sheds.

it looks like a normal (miami) corn snake. the pattern is too prominent for it to be a diffused (bloodred is a selectively bred diffused to reduce the pattern to almost nothing). good looking corn though

ah, i was looking at some blood reds the other day that looked very similar, but ya it did have much less prominant markings. thx for the info, i didnt know that was part of what it meant to be a blood red corn :)
Gonda looks more like a classic/normal/wild type (I like the term classic) than a miami. Both have black bordered reddish saddles, but classics have an orangey background whereas the miami's have a gray/tan background. Look forward to seeing post-shed pics of her. Maynard's a handsome little guy and love the name btw.

thanks. gonda seems to have aborted the shed proccess too its weird one day she looks completly ready to shed and the next her eyes are clear and her belly looks white. i cant explain it maybe when i offered her the rat but didnt let her eat it because she took too long and i didnt want to just leave her with a rat she just re routed the energy to something else (is that even possible) any ideas? or maybe im just reading her wrong and she is going to shed

Alot of snakes will cear up just before shed. Bet she shed in the next two days. I give her a light misting.

i mist her several times a day (at least 3) seeing as she is in a aquarium and not a proper viv both my snakes get warm baths once weekly or as needed when shedding

All three of our corns will "clear" a day or two before actually shedding, you will find a skin soon i reckon.

I give all of my snakes a humid hide. (An enclosed container filled with damp sphagnum moss with a hole cut in one end.) To assist with shedding. I have yet to have a bad shed.
