My friend got this snake awhile back and seems to think it is a burmese...I know it's not but need help on convincing her as she got it from a good friend that bred it and has known them longer than she has me...and he told her it was a burmese.

Also, can you maybe tell me what kind of boa it is? I have never seen one this dark...

(Sorry, I took these photos w/ my phone but it really is this dark!)

That what i was thinking by the high saddles and darker color, but it could be a Columbian. The one thing i am 100% sure of is that isn't a burmese python, and the guy she got it from is a idiot. He should be breeding if he didn't know it was a boa. Tell the guy to do a search online of pictures of red tail boas and burmese python.

might be a nicaraguan or just a normal, can you get some pics of it in more light?

Yup...Nicaraguan boa. They are typically dark and usually mostly shades of gray and dull bark-ish brown.

yeh the columbians lose pretty much all their markings as they get older x

It's simply a Nicaraguan boa. Did they change Central American's to Nic boas? I don't hear of Central's anymore.

their was some argentile boas for sale here the other day, i wanted to get one or two so bad but they are all sold out now. they are very beautifull snakes as well as super rare around here now. from what i read on the site that was selling them is they are banned to import export from canada now.

Oh that really sucks...I wish I could have several of every non venomous snake in the pet trade :) That would rock!
