Hi, im new to the forum and have one question? :)

Couple days ago i saw mites on my two boas that were breeding and went with them to the vet.
Here in Serbia is very hard to find mite killers and she said that she will give them a shot for i think (ekto parasites - skin parasites/ i dont know how to say that on english, but ill found out).

Before that i saw how Ralph Davis gives his BP a shot in muscle right to the spine but when she insert a needle it was on a middle of a snake and on a side, i think it was just under the skin and not in the muscle.

I didnt see first one because i was getting other one to the table, but i think it was the same.

Im wanna know is that a problem and is that shot going to work because its not injected in right place?

Sorry for english.

Hello and welcome to the forum. Every shot i have given or seen given has been on the side of the snakes body close to their vent. I have always been told to inject depending on the size of the snake a couple of inches in front of their vent. As if you go near the spine you can hit a nerve a paralyse them. You also only want to go just underneath the skin as otherwise you can inject straight into their lungs or other organs going in to deep.
