This is my spider ball python. He was born in the latter months of '09 (August). We got him in June '10 and the younger photos were taken 3 days after I got him. He is just super handsome and growing up so fast! Here are some before photos. I used my hand as a comparison in some, and then the log he has now is the SAME log as the one in his younger photos :)

First...the pics from when he was littler

WOW, look at the hand comparisons! I can barely hold him anymore and I used to be able to hold him in my fingers…I never thought they could grow so fast in 4 months!

Nice looking spider. I am not really a fan of BP's but I love spiders, pieds and killerbees. This is a great looking snake. Keep the pics coming.

He loves the camera, haha. He has NEVER missed a meal! I am so proud of him, he is getting soooooo big. I can't wait to see how much bigger he gets in the next 5 months of having him ;)

And thanks everyone, there are plenty of photos haha. I am a photo-holic!

I am about to do a fall theme photo shoot...I got a few props, just need a few more and all my snakes can enjoy a decorative fall/halloween theme :)

Well he was eating one large mouse ever 5 days but this littler booger just took his first weany rat the other day...am so proud...didn't even fuss over it...now my female normal...sheesh...she wont eat crap except mice and she is WAY bigger than him...I have to feed her 2-3 mice each feeding.

I will probably start feeding my spider once a week now though since he just switched to rats and they are a more fullfilling meal for him.

ooooooh nice! yea i just started my BP feeding period. i thought i was going to lose him. he ate for the first time a few days ago so hopefully he'll start growing more. i got sold what i was told were pinky mice which were waaaaay to big and were pinkt rats but he took the pinky mouse really well. i cant wait till he feed regularly on his own like my boa. i wouldnt mind getting a female spider girlfriend for him. cocoa is gorgeous!.

If it is a ball python, it should have something larger than a pinkie... Everyone I have known starts them on either rat chubs or weanling mice...but a ball python is way to big for just a pinkie, even if it just hatched out.

Pinkie mice are for colubrids...corn snakes, hog nose, king snake...if a corn snake eats a pinkie mouse, then your BP needs something bigger as they are a lot bigger when born than a colubrid.

Can you send me a pic of your snake and what you are feeding it?

im not a fan of ball pythons but i do have a soft spot for spider balls

does he show any signs of the neurological issues spiders can sometimes have, head wobbles etc ?

he's a nice big chunky looking guy

cheers shaun

Yes, he has a very high wobble to him. It's cute...he is a snake that honestly thinks he is a monkey and he loves hanging upside down...he is very head shy and if you get close to his head he 'wobbles' away, haha. Compared to my female ball python, he is slow at pulling away because he more or less 'wobbles' away. It is very cute though :D Can't wait to make some bumblebee's :P

the jaguar carpet python sometimes has a very similar neuro issue.

out my 4 jags only one gets really bad head wobbles when he's excited.

we call him shakey

he's probaly one of my top three favorite snakes in my collection as he's quite a charecteur.he does full loops back on himself creating a big loop of snake.he lives as well as all my other carpets and eats and sheds 100% perfect everytime.

you got a cracking spider there pal

cheers shaun
