The building I work in is next to a river, with woods and a flood plain separating the two. I've seen quite a few garters around, and caught a couple of babies a couple weeks ago. Finally today when I got to work, I went around back to where we discard pallets for recycle, and lifted up a few and I found this little fella. I had to take him inside so our night production manager could take a pic. Afterward I released him back where I found him. Pay no attention to the fool in the background.....

Sweet! The fool in the back ground can't be that big of a fool. His in to snakes, so that makes him cool in my book.:elvis:

Must be so cool to just have garters wandering about all over the place, here you'll be lucky to see a slow worm and even luckier if you see an adder

It is cool, I look for them all of the time now, though I don't see them as much as I'd like, and they'll soon be hiding away for the winter. I get all excited and jittery when I do find one and I'm sure people think I look like a freak, but I don't care!

I envy you mate, I'd love to be able to see some Aussie pythons in the wild. I'd probably faint from the excitement.

Thanks for that Chuck! The guy taking the picture (Our night manager) Is interested in the snakes, but they frighten him, he didn't want to get too close, but he loves the pics and videos I show him, and the other day he actually swerved to avoid hitting a garter on the road. (I would have stopped to move it) He's coming around though.

No pythons around me mate, but apparantly they have found diamonds in this area in the past. I am yet to know anyone who has encounted one though. We do get heaps of hot's though 5 mins from where i am so i will be sure to grab some photo's when i go out.
