I am going to be getting my first jungle in a couple weeks.
I need a little help though. I want to get everything set up and ready. I have a 10 gallon tank to put it in (Im building a cage for when it gets bigger).
Does anyone have any pictures of a starter setup? I seem to be able to find lots of ideas for when the snakes get big, but not smaller setups.

Also how long can I use the 10 gallon tank? From the 10 gallon can I move him/her right to the big cage? Or should I gradually increase the size of the cage?

Thanks,
Adam

Hello and Welcome! You want to have branches for them to climb on. A hide at warm and one at the cool end of the cage. MAKE SURE THE LID AS LOCKS. The sooner you can put it into a cage the better. Tank are to easy (even with locks) for jungles to escape. Also a 10 gallon not very big i think. I start all my babies out in a 35 Quart tub with lock ends.

thanks for the info.

How big/old should I let the snake get before I move it into its permanent cage?

It all depends on the size of your snake. I put a lot of young juvies into 4' x 2' x 2' tansk and have never had any dramas. As long as the snake has hides they would love the extra space to roam around in.

depending on the individual snake i put them into a 4x2x2ft set up between a year and 2 years of age.

a nervous snake i leave a lot longer and usually do it in stages

large faunarium, then a 2x2x2ft vivarium, then a 3ft x2ftx2ft vivarium, then finally onto a 4x2x2ft vivarium for life
