View Full Version : Buying my Dumerils today!!

The other day i found a sweet deal. Pvc tank, 24x24x36, herpstat with probe, RBI 80wattt heat panel and a stand, all for $200. So the wife and i decided to buy a Dumerils, hopefully pick it up today. Thing is, i cant really get gradient temp with the panel. Under it i can get it to go to86, but the other side only goes 1 degree cooler. So what im tryin as we speak is, i put a heat mat under the tank, under the panel to see if i can get a hot spot of 88-89, and see if the other side stays alittle cooler. Anyone have any feedback??

So i experimented and with the panel and UTH, the hotspot gets to 89, and the cool side gets to 82. How is that for Dumerils? Humidity is about 70.

Sounds good to me. At night i turn the panel down about three to four degrees. Can't wait to see pics of your Dumeril when you get it.

Just picked him up and just letting him settle in. Do i need to let the temp drop or no? I know with my ball python they dont need a night time temp drop.

Look forward to seeing pics as well. We just got 2 Dum boys this year. Your temps sound alright, but the humidity seems high. Granted I'm a newb when it comes to Dums, but from my research it seems that a humidity of 45-55% is average.

Has this handsome boy shed yet?
