Hellooo I just bought a JCP and she is Black and a tanish yellow. They said she will be bright bright yellow when she is older. How long does it normally take for JCP's to reach full color? She is just a baby and she hasn't even bitten at me yet! Is this a really good sign of a tame JCP? I plan on handling her multiple times a day.... Please let me know what you think! I also have a 40gal breeder tank that she will be kept in. Does anyone have any ideas for it? Also how about names!!!!????

Thanks,
T-Y

They get their brightest around 3 years of age. As for your tank have branches they love to climb. Also be sure to have a hide at the warm end and cool end. MAKE SURE TO HAVE LOCKS ON YOUR TANK. They are some of the best escape artists. Names? I'll have to think on that one.

Hello and welcome. Chuck is on the money with their colours being full and bright at 2.5-3 years old. Also good advice with your tank as well.
