View Full Version : Natural tank from what I had lying around

Following reading the last post, I thought it might be good to put this in here rather than the enclosure thread as it was purpose built to plant into. Made it from old aquarium and stuff I had lying around so cheap too.

Seperate land and water area by siliconing in glass cut to size

Put in filter, pump for waterfall and aquarium heater and enclose with plastic basket cut to fit (test it's waterproof first)!!

Add more rocks to cover workings and grit as base on other side so plants don't get waterlogged (leave a small corner without grit and put a small cut piece of pipe just above height of grit)

Lay piece of weed control fabric over grit and add mixture of eco earth and bark, add springtails (to breakdown nasties) and add patch of live sphagnum moss

SECURELY fix rocks and cork bark waterfall with tubing running up back (don't want squished froggies)!
