Ball Python Question

I have a young but not a baby ball python in a fairly large enclosure, he's always well fed and kept etc. will he then tolerate any other reptile in the same space with him? his tank has tons of hiding rocks, logs, branches and levels where he barely even goes ( the tank is 3 ft high), would he be alright with say small lizards or frogs or something in there besides another python? or in other words if i feed him regularly would he tolerate a passing reptile MORE than not when they cross tracks.

Hello, and welcome aboard! This is a Bad idea. You never want to house any other sort of critter with your snakes. Anything smaller than the snake itself could be a potential food item. Not to mention the stress on both animals.

not a good idea you may think that your BP is well fed (and i am not disagreeing) but the snake is hardwired to eat when it can because in the wild they go for long periods of time without eating. also BP are known to go on hunger strikes and if you don't feed it the second it comes off its strike you have lost a lizard or a frog

ok i get the idea, no interacial reptiles lol but i just wanted to ask more informed people than myself so thanks everyone for the help i guess no play mates for him(or her)until i get it sexed, then maybe a companion.

as has already been said its not a good idea to put any other kind of reptile in with him.

it may even stop him eating as it could stress him out.as infernalis said pythons in fact most snakes are loners.

theres also the risk of your python eating what you put in.

it dont work like humans

as in when we're fed and have a full belly we wont eat anymore

snakes are opertunist feeders so even though you think he's well fed and full he may still eat anything else he comes across.
