I will be getting 3 ball pythons from a friend who breeds them in a couple days. They are around 2 years old I think. The questions I have for you guys are. Do they get stressed if they are in to big of a cage for there age/size. I only ask because I went out and bought 41q 35 X 16.5 X 6.125 sterilite bins for them. I did this after reading they need the space but did not put 2 and 2 together till just now that maybe they will do better in smaller cage till they get bigger. Also I planned on using flexwatt tape for heating on a thermostate, any tricks of running that. I have 3 strips that are 6ft long and 3.5in wide I used to use them for my roaches when I had alot of beardies some years back. I was planning on running 2 strips on each side. But not sure if I should put some aluminum foil or something inbetween the plastic and the heat tape. Sorry for such a long post.

Welcome...

as for space, just as long as there is a hide and water bowl you should be fine.

I have never used flexiwatt with a tote.

As mentioned just provide a hide on both ends of the cage and maybe some fake leaves (from dollar tree or a hobby lobby) going from one end to another to provide security when going from one side to another. But actually if they are two years old I wouldnt think the cage size is that big of deal. As far as the flexwatt. I dont think you need to use all of what you have. One strip should due fine maybe two of them? No need to put foil tape between the flexwatt and the tub. Just use the foil tape to tape the flexwatt to the rack and thats it. No real tricks to using flexwatt with a thermostat. Just plug the flexwatt into the thermostat and set the thermostat to the desired temp and place the probe against the heat tape and test the temps with an infrared temp gun if you have one. If not, they are a great and essential tool to have and you can get them for cheap. Good luck.

Awsome, well ill stick with the larger totes then and add more cover for them if I see them stressed.

Thanks
