my husband has new baby northern copperheads, what can he feed them? He has been told he can try crickets but they have refused them, He has been told he can try caterpillers but where can he find them? He has been so stressed out about this blessed event he can hardly go to work. He has had copperheads before, but never one that has had babies!!!! Please if anyone has any experience or knowledge about this we would be so grateful. The babies are 3 days old today. thanks sandp.

3 days?? many snakes will not eat this soon.
My baby eastern milk snakes were 40 days old when they finally ate the first time.
small newts, polliwogs or aquatic salamanders are worth a try.

I agree with Wayne. I would seriously doubt they would eat for the first week or two at least. 1 day old pinks might work as well, a little heat and movement never hurts.
