I'd never heard of this particular albino morph before, and I'm admittedly not much one for the albino boas. I found this fellow at the Havre de Grace show this morning, and was just stunned. He's got the colors of a lavender albino retic, but he's a boa. The breeder, Reptile Kingdom, said they have only ever had a few lavender albinos, and they tend to become more purple as they age. This guy is 2 years old and will be breedable this coming season. He's a big sweetheart to boot. He's very curious and friendly and laid-back. I just had to have him. It's hard to get the colors to really show in the pictures, but they give a pretty good idea of him.
I've got to come up with a good name. Any suggestions, guys? I was thinking Livewire, since my hypo male is Slowburn, but this guy is sooo laid-back I don't know.

Oh how beautiful is he!? :) That`s a proper looker eh! I`ll have to think about the name. Do you just want a cool sounding name ? Or something relating to the way he looks?

Not sure. I will know the right name when I hear it. I will get some better quality pics tomorrow- those are from my phone.

Thanks everyone...I keep staring at him- his colors just mesmerize me...lol. I have a lemon pastel BP already named Lemondrop, or that wouldn't be bad. He's actually not got much yellow though- it's more of a creamsicle color. I will get better pics today.

I have seen a few purple / lavender looking albinos, I wasn;t aware that they had been given their own status, I think its just a variation of the standard albino gene. Very nice boa :)

Will0W783
08-15-10, 03:07 PM
It might just be a variation, but it was labeled as "lavender albino." Honestly I don't care, his colors were what sucked me in..lol. I just hope he holds that nice pearly lavender as he ages. He's already about 2 years old and 3 feet long, so he shouldn't fade too much...hopefully.

If anything it tends to get more purple :Wow:

I didn't mean to come across like I was having a go, just trying to help with the genetics :crazy2:

Kittimer. I was going to suggest this name because I like the sound of it and it has a Star trek link (I`m a Star trek fan) but.... How strange is this? After looking into another avenue for you, translating various words to see if there are any nice sounding foriegn words you could use and guess what Kittimer means! Go on guess! It means Putty in Estonian !! Mad eh... I quite like to have criptic meanings within my names so I really like that one :)
Also Slang, that`s Dutch for snake :)

I don't particularly care for Star Trek...I was thinking Spectrum as a possibility too, since he's got so many colors to him.
Bladeblaster, I know you weren't having a go. I honestly haven't ever heard of the lavender albino boa before, and was wondering if anyone knew of it. Whatever his genetics, the colors are stunning, and hopefully will pass on to future offspring.

He is a pretty good size- about 3 or so feet long. He is two years old, so he will probably be able to breed this upcoming season, if I feel either of my ladies are ready for it. I have a female Nicaraguan boa and a female Colombian salmon hypo het anery possible het albino.

Lol. I don't think he minds....he does have some very light pastel coloration. I hope he makes some nice babies. I may have to get a female albino too at some point here...lol.

Why thank you, Feebs. *blushes*

Ok, so the names that I am debating between are Spectrum, Vector, Livewire, Prince (think "Purple Rain") and Professor Plum (like from the Clue game). I kind of like Professor Plum, but I've got a poll going on another forum with those choices. So everyone here can feel free to give their choice from the list here too! :)

Quite like "The Professor"!!

Lol, seems that one is winning everywhere. My fiance is sore because he wanted me to name it Prince, but I like Professor Plum better. Plus, "The Professor" is a cool nickname!

Thanks Bladeblaster- that's a heck of a nice Sharp albino. It's different that mine though- mine the background color is the opalescent lavender, instead of the saddles, and there's more color variety in mine. He's got cream, coral, lavender, pink, white, yellow. He was so unusual to me I had to have him. I really hope his lavender gets as vibrant as the purple on those Sharps though- dang that'd be a heck of a thing. :)

I go with Professor Plum. It has a nice ring to it. The new pics rock. I really like the first two. He looks so much bigger in the one of you holding him. Look like a baby in the first ones.

Out of those names I like Vector best :) But yes, Professor Plum does have a ring to it... How about professor Vector? lol :)
